In Voronezh, was held Under 23 individual time trial of Russian Road Championships 2012.
The race of 25 kilometers finished with double triumph of continental team Itera-Katusha – Anton Vorobyev won gold medal, while Sergei Chernetckii took silver medal. Broze took Ivan Savitskiy from RusVelo.
Vorobyev passed 25 kilometers in 31.19,26, while Chernetckii lost +0.24 and Savitskiy +0.51.
- I am very happy with such a success of the team! ITT was very difficult today, especially on its second part with a long climb and strong front wind. I think, that the race was decided on this second part of distance. Anton Vorobyev, who was recovering for a long time after his crash in the beginning of spring, showed some good performances during Giro Ciclistico d’Italia, where he worked a lot for the team and Ilnur Zakarin. So, today’s result – its just a right developing of his shape. Sergei Chernetckii, the same, was very good in Italy and could save his shape till Russian Championships. I hope, this Saturday we will show some good results in Under 23 road race too, - said Alexei SHCHEBELIN, sports director of Itera-Katusha.
For Anton Vorobyev today’s gold medal is second victory in Russian Road Championships in a row. In 2011 Vorobyev, the same, won Under 23 ITT.
