Today took place the last but one stage of “Tour de France”: a 53,5 kilometers long ITT from Bonneval to Chartres.
Two riders from Katusha Team showed the same time: Denis Menchov and Aliaksandr Kuchynski, which stopped the clock at 1h08’41’’, time that brought them to the 28th and 29th position, 4’28’’ far from the winner Bradley Wiggins (Sky). The British rider stopped the clock at 1h04’13’’: second place for his teammate Chris Froome, 1’16’’ far from him; while Luis Leon Sanchez (Rabobank) took the third position, 1’50’’ far. With just one stage to go, the traditional one that will take the riders to Champs Elysees, Wiggins is the virtual winner of ‘Grande Boucle’: he’s 3’21’’ ahead of Froome, while Vincenzo Nibali (Liquigas-Cannondale) is 6’19’’ far. The leader of Katusha Team, Menchov, is now 15th, with a 27’22’’ gap; a little behind the Russian National Champion, Eduard Vorganov, in 19th position, 38’16’’ far from the yellow jersey.
