Valle d’Aosta. Sergei Chernetckii takes the last stage and second place in general classification

Sergei Chernetckii, rider of Itera-Katusha, who represents National Russian Team, won the final stage of Giro Valle d’Aosta, taking 2nd place in final general classification of the race.

National Russian Team, represented by Itera-Katusha riders, successfully finished prestigious race Giro Valle d’Aosta inItaly.

The last, 6th stage, individual time trial for 12,5 km from Chatel to Col de Bassachaux won Russian rider Sergei Chernetckii, who showed a good time – 28.09. Third place at the stage took one more Itera-Katusha rider Alexander Foliforov, who lost 38 seconds to his teammate. Second place took Italian Fabio Aru from Team Palazzago.

Fabio Aru became the final winner of Giro Valle d’Aosta, for the second time in a row. Sergei Chernetckii after a perfect victory at stage 6, moved to 2nd place in overall classification and became the vice-champion of the race. The podium was completed by Andrea Manfredi from Italia.

Another Itera-Katusha’s rider Sergey Pomoshnikov finished 14th in general classification.

- We did a very good race here in Italy and I am really very happy with it. For third time in a row riders of Itera-Katusha are on the final podium of the race! We can proud of this result. Sergei Chernetckii was very strong during the whole week and I am happy that today he won a stage and finished 2nd in general classification. Besides, I am happy with the performance of Alexander Foliforov and Sergey Pomoshnikov, – said Nikolay MOROZOV, sports director of Itera-Katusha.
