Two riders of continental team Itera-Katusha, Viacheslav Kuznetsov and Pavel Kochetkov became second and third, respectively in one-day race GP Miskolc.
Continental team Itera-Katusha did a very good race in 1.2 UCI event Central European Tour Miskolc GC today in Hungary. Viacheslav Kuznetsov and Pavel Kochetkov finished at second and third positions, respectively.
In the middle of the distance a 15-man breakaway was formatted, including 4 riders from Itera-Katusha. With 80 km to the finish, after an attack of Viacheslav Kuznetsov another escape of 4 riders went away – Kuznetsov, Kochetkov and two riders from Tusnad Cycling Team – Krisztian Lovassy and Matija Kvasina.
The escape worked well and finally, played the victory in sprint, won by Lovassy. Viacheslav Kuznetsov finished second, while Pavel Kochetkov completed the podium.
- I think, we can be disappointed a little bit because, we could win today. The team was perfect today, we controlled the race the whole day, we attacked a lot. Finally, Kuznetsov started his sprint, maybe, too late – he was close for a victory, but missed just a little. Anyway, we did a very strong race and took some good points for the UCI Europe Tour ranking, – said sports director of Itera-Katusha Alexei SHCHEBELIN.
