World Tour Katusha Team takes three riders-trainees from continental team Itera-Katusha.
Russian World Tour Katusha Team officially includes in its roster till the end of the season three riders-trainees from continental team Itera-Katusha.
These riders are Anton Vorobyev, Viacheslav Kuznetsov and Ilnur Zakarin.
- The politics of Katusha Team and the whole Russian Global Cycling Project is to prepare young talented Russian riders and to help them to rise till the professional level inside of Russian World Tour team. For me, as general manager of Katusha is very important every year to take 3 more young riders from our continental team, to test them and to give them a possibility to realize their potential. This year we took three riders, because its maximum possible number of trainees, but I would like even more Russian talents to test in Katusha Team, – said general manager Hans HOLCZER.
The main results of riders-trainees in 2012:
Anton Vorobyev (1990) – Under 23 Russian Champion in individual time trial and road race.
Viacheslav Kuznetsov (1989) – 1st place “La Roue Tourangelle”; 1st place at 1st stage and 2nd place in general classification of “Ronde de l’Oise”; 2nd place “Central European Tour Miskolc GP”; 3rd place in general classification of “Circuit des Ardennes International”; 3rd place “Mayor Cup”.
Ilnur Zakarin (1989) – 1st place “GP of Donetsk”; 1st place in general classification “GP of Adygeya”; 1st place at 5th stage of Giro Ciclistico d’Italia”; 1st place at 5th stage of “Tour Alsace”.
