Sergei Chernetckii from continental team Itera-Katusha reached a very good result, becoming vice-champion of Italian 1.1 race GP Citta di Camaiore.
Continental team Itera-Katusha took a very strong result today in Italyat 1.1 UCI race GP Citta di Camaiore. Sergei Chernetckii became runner-up of the race, while Alexander Rybakov finished 8th.
The crucial moment of the race was the final climb Monte Pitoro where 5 riders attached and created the leader’s group. Among them was Sergei Chernetckii from Itera-Katusha. Leaders pushed hard and finally could play the victory.
In the finish line just photo-finish announced Johan Chaves Rubio from Colombia as GP Citta di Camaiore champion, while Sergei Chernetckii took second podium place. Italian Champion Franco Pellizotti from Androni Giocattoli completed the podium.
- We can say, it was a big succes of our team. Chernetckii reached the podium in such a strong professional race, winning ahead of a number of real champions. We knew this race and we knew we could do a good result here. Honestly, our main goal was to take a podium place and we did it! At the finish Sergei was very strong, but photo-finish gave the victory to Columbian rider. Anyway, I am very happy and very proud of this result, – said sports director of Itera-Katusha Nikolay Morozov.
