Alexander Kristoff from Katusha Team reached the final podium of World Ports Classic, finishing third in general classification.
InRotterdamhas finished second and the last stage of World Ports Classic, 2.1 UCI race.
The stage finished with the massive sprint, won by Theo Bos from Rabobank. Alexander Kristoff from Katusha Team missed the podium, placing 4th, just behind of Andre Greipel from Lotto-Belisol (2nd place) and Tom Boonen from Omega Pharma-Quick Step (3rd place).
Thanks to that result Alexander Kristoff reached the final podium of the race, taking 3rd place in general classification. Tom Boonen is the overall winner, while Andre Greipel did second.
- Think, we can be happy with the result of the team. Today, we tried to get some seconds in intermediate sprints. But, in the first one Kristoff did third, all other sprints took riders from the breakaway. In the final Alex Kristoff did a good sprint and finished 4th, taking 3rd place in general classification. Katusha spent a good race during these two days, so we leave it in a good mood, – said sports director Gennady MIKHAYLOV.
Alexander Kristoff won the white jersey of the best young rider of World Ports Classic.
