The most difficult day of climbing came in Wednesday’s stage 11 at the 2015 Vuelta a España with 5000 m of vertical climbing on hand for the peloton of 175 riders. Team Katusha’s Daniel Moreno and Joaquim Rodriquez stayed within themselves and rode near the front on the last of six rated climbs, finally taking 4th and fifth respectively.

The first week of the Vuelta a España ended with the 10th stage from Valencia to Castellón over 146,6 km and decided by a massive sprint, won by Kristian Sbaragli from MTN-Qhubeka. Sbaragli outsprinted John Degenkolb from Giant-Alpecin and José Joaquín Rojas from Movistar.

Team Katusha’s Alexander Kristoff obtained another WorldTour victory by winning the one-day classic Grand Prix Ouest France - Plouay in France. In a sprint of some 50 riders, Kristoff was the fastest rider beating Simone Ponzi (Southeast) and Ramunas Navardauskas (Cannondale-Garmin).
