Katusha’s riders Petr Ignatenko and Vladimir Gusev, crashed during the training in Mallorca on 22nd January, will come back for trainings in short time, say doctors.
Yesterday, Katusha Team rider Petr Ignatenko had a surgery on his right shoulder. The surgery lasted about two hours was successful. According to the doctors, with condition of a good recovery, two weeks later, Petr will be able to start his home training.
The same, yesterday, there was additional medical examination for Vladimir Gusev, who broke finger on his left hand. According to the doctors, the plaster from the finger could be removed in about four weeks, while the rider could come back for the races.
- Finally, today’s surgery on the shoulder of Petr was very successful. Of course, he will need some time to recover, but we can say that everything will be ok. Petr is very optimistic. Vladimir Gusev also is optimistic about his recovery and already thinks about his return for races, while he needs time for healing, - said team’s doctor Alexander YABLUNOVSKIY.
