Yesterday has finished the UCI Europe Tour stage race (2.2 category) Grand Prix of Sochi. The last, 5th stage was between Tuapse and Krasnodar with the distance of 178 km.
The stage has finished with the massive sprint, won again by ITERA-Katusha rider Maksim Razumov, who already scored two victories in this race. In the final rush Razumov outsprinted Vitaliy Buts from Kolss and Reinis Andrijanovs from Alpha Baltic.
Two more riders of ITERA-Katusha took their places in Top-10 of the stage: Sergey Nikolaev was 7th, while Konstantin Kuperasov took 10th.
Thanks to the stage victory Maksim Razumov took 10 bonus seconds, with 4 seconds more than Vitaliy Buts, but that was not enough to get the final victory – Buts won general classification of the race with just 1 second of advantage over Razumov. Thus, Maksim Razumov became vice-champion of Grand Prix of Sochi. This place in overall took Vitaliy Popkov from ISD Continental Team, who lost 14 seconds.
Sergey Nikolaev completed Top-10 of general classification with his 10th place.
Besides, Maksim Razumov won the point classification.
Successful Grand Prix of Sochi (3 stage victories, 2 stage podiums and final second place) brought to ITERA-Katusha 61 points in the UCI Europe Tour team’s classification.
