03-08-2010Team Katusha did a good and very agressive race today at first stage of "Paris - Nice" from Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines to Contres (203,5 km). In conditions of strong and cold wind, Alexander Kolobnev and Sergey Ivanov were selected in a leader's group of 15 with 20 km to go and to the last struggled for a victory.
Sergey Ivanov did an attack with 1 km to go and Kolobnev did a strong sprint, but finally finished 4th. Ivanov was 13th. Greg Henderson from "Sky Pro Cycling Team" won the stage.
All other Team Katusha's riders, except of Danilo Napolitano, finished in first big group with 17 seconds behind of Henderson.
In GC Lars Boon from "Rabobank" is still leader and Joaquin Rodrigues is 20th, Sergey Ivanov is 21st and Alexander Kolobnev is 23th.
