04-25-2010A good performance for Alexander Kolobnev at Doyenne, the holdest of the classic races. With 15 km to go he breaks both Vinokourov and they go toghether until the last 500 metres where Vinokourov also breaks and won in a solo breakaway. Third place for Valverde at +1’06’’.
Kolobnev: “I gave my best support in this race. I worked toghether Vinokourov very well for to take a solid gap. So I knew everything will be decided at the final metres. I tried to follow him but he was too strong for me today. I want to thank the whole Team because worked very well”.
